Renown Australian fire performer Jessy Spin (Jessica Foster), along with the creative duo of Pixel.Flame and Vimala Faith, convened at the Burning Man event producing works of photography and cinematic video to document the art of fire performance. The trio gathered in the early dawn to capture the performer dancing as the sun rose over the playa of the Black Rock Desert. The performance commenced with Jessy Spin wearing her most daring creation, a magnificently designed fire skirt, stirring flames around her amidst a colorful sky. The combination of Pixel.Flame’s cinematography and Vimala Faith’s photography captured the dynamic energy resulting in striking visuals to showcase not only the individual talents of Jessy, but also revealing the magic of collaboration among skilled artists.

“This whole moment started with an instagram post. Jess was announcing that she was coming to Burning Man, so I reached out to her immediately. I told Jess she could have any morning she wanted, but we had to shoot with her at sunrise—and of course I had to ask Vimala to do the stills. We had a great team to support the effort, so in that moment when we were all there together, I really couldn’t have been happier.”
